First, let's get acquainted with the raw material: liquid human silicone rubber. Liquid human silicone is a two-component environmentally friendly silicone that is non-toxic and odorless. It is typically semi-transparent but can be colored according to customer requirements. Component A is the liquid silicone, and component B is the catalyst, both of which are indispensable in the process. Human silicone has high realism, with skin color, hardness, feel, and softness very similar to real human skin. Additionally, it is eco-friendly, non-toxic, food-grade, and certified by SGS and FDA. It can be used and remain soft and elastic over a temperature range of -65°C to 200°C.
Steps to Make Silicone Rubber Human Skin Masks
- Preparation of the Mold: Before making the mask, you need to prepare a mold, which is a replica of the object. If making a human replica, a 3D-printed model of the person can be used.
- Mold Treatment: Clean the mold and spray it with a release agent.
- Mixing the Components: Using an electronic scale, small bucket (or cup), and a stirring tool, mix components A and B in a 1:1 ratio until well-blended.
- Removing Air Bubbles: Use a vacuum machine to remove bubbles from the mixed liquid silicone. If a vacuum machine is unavailable, you can use a toothpick or hairdryer to remove bubbles.
- Pouring the Silicone: Pour the degassed silicone into the prepared mold.
- Curing the Silicone: Wait for the liquid silicone to stop flowing and solidify. This can be done at room temperature or by applying heat to speed up the curing process.
- Demolding and Trimming: Once cured, remove the mask from the mold and trim it as needed.
Making a human skin mask is straightforward, but attention to detail is crucial. Ensure the tools used are clean and free from impurities to prevent the silicone from not curing. Also, avoid smoking during the process to prevent "silicone poisoning."
